Weather Analysis
This 8-week course covers the basics of proper weather map analysis. You will analyze surface and upper air maps in near-realtime. You will receive specific guidance on what to analyze, how to analyze the maps and the principles of analysis. You will also learn how to effectively use satellite and radar imagery. You will also learn how to verify a computer model's initial field to discover what the model may have missed. Most exercises will need to be scanned and emailed to us - we provide the scanner and it is yours to keep.

Specialized Site-Specific Weather Forecasting
Learn how to forecast for areas as small as 25 square miles. You will learn how to forecast precipitation amounts, hourly temperatures, wind direction and windspeed, timing of wind shifts, cloud bases and coverage, precipitation type and much more. These are the types of forecasts used in aviation, construction, pollution control, fire forecasting and for power companies.

You will need a working knowledge of meteorology, preferably a degree in meteorology.
