Our 3-Day Extreme Weather Seminar is open to everyone.

Extreme Weather Seminar
The Extreme Weather Seminar is a 3 day, 18 hour program featuring hands-on training and lectures. You'll learn how to look for potential extreme weather events using a combination of real-time diagnostics and numerical models. You'll also predict the beginning and ending of extreme weather events.You will be using upper air and surface data as well as numerical models. Three books and software are included.

Topics include: Convective wind gusts, flash flooding, record highs and lows, heavy snow and freezing rain.

Hours: 8:30am and 3:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with a 1 hour lunch break.
There will be a complimentary dinner and a trip to Mt. Rushmore for members.

Seminar Fees

Three days including all material: $797 including South Dakota sales tax. Accommodations are not included.

Discounts: 10% for multiple registrations from the same organization and a 10% discount if the short course/seminar is paid in full 90 days or more in advance.

Area hotel and cabin room rates are generally $25 to $45 per night before Memorial Day, rising to $35 to $65 per night Memorial Day through the summer. Rapid City Regional Airport is served by United, Northwest, Frontier, Allegiant and Delta airlines with non-stop service to Denver, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago and Minneapolis.
